Physiotherapy after hip replacement surgery

When you need effective and professional post-hip surgery physiotherapy in Rovaniemi, the expertise of Lapin Liikuntaklinikka is at your disposal.

Towards a pain-free life postsurgery

Hip osteoarthritis is generally considered to be the most common cause of hip pain in adults. About 7,500 hip surgeries are performed in Finland every year, mostly for people over the age of 65. As treatment times shorten, the importance of high-quality physiotherapy only increases. The rehabilitation professionals at the Lapin Liikuntaklinikka have put together a special treatment package, which is designed to improve physical functionality, reduce pain and promote holistic rehabilitation.

High-quality home practice guidance plays an important role in rehabilitation. It includes individual training instructions in writing as well as instructions for progressing in exercises and in basic fitness as the rehabilitation process moves along.

Contents of the physiotherapy package:

  • 6 x visits
  • initial and final exam
  • guidance for home exercises, incl. written instructions
  • manual therapy
  • therapeutic exercises
  • if necessary, treatment of swelling with the Lymphatouch
  • if necessary, implementation of physiotherapy with home visits
  • 1 month free access to Santasport’s CMS gym and swimming pool at the end of the treatment package

More information about rehabilitation

Our postoperative physiotherapy package includes both manual treatment and therapeutic exercises. But what do they mean in practice? The forms of manual treatment are always selected according to individual needs. They can be e.g. nerve tissue mobilization, massage, and scar treatment. Therapeutic training, on the other hand, is carried out as body weight training as well as equipment training. The aim is to develop functional and walking abilities in a variety of ways, for example by improving muscle elasticity, balance and motor control.
